Quake2DS NDS Homebrew Tutorial

This video will show you how to install Quake2DS onto your DS Flashcard. I use a CycloDS Evolution in this video, but it will work for all flashcards THAT SUPPORT SLOT-2 RAM AT OR OVER 16MB. If you do not have this, sorry, there’s never going to be a solution.

You’ll need the shareware (demo) version of Quake 2, the Quake2 config.cfg file (optional), and obviously Quake2DS. Unzip Quake2DS. Take the quake2.nds file and put it at the root. Also, make a folder named “baseq2″ at the root of the folder.

Open up the Quake 2 installer. Follow the instructions, and locate the installation folder. Copy the .pak files from the baseq2 folder and put them in the baseq2 folder on your flashcard. Also, if you downloaded it, place the config.cfg file in the folder. If need be, DLDI patch your quake2.nds file.

Now you’re all set up to go. If you have the full version of Quake 2, you can put that .pak file into it and be able to play the full game.

In order for this to actually work, you have to have a Slot-2 card with at least 16MB of RAM. Since I have a Slot-1 card (CycloDS), I just need to put that in and my EZ Flash 3-in-1.

And you’re good to go. Ask questions if you need any help.
