How To Put A Shine On Text Using Image Ready Cs2

First off i zoomed into the image to 800%

Then i selected ever thing but the pixels around the text (select all of the image and then hold Alt and then select the text)

After you do that you copy the image (the picture nothing else) and you put that layer above all the other things (except the border if you have on)

Then after you’ve done that make a new layer (under the copied image but above the text) and on this layer select about 6 pixels wide (but as tall as the image). after you do this go to “select, feather” and i used 3 pixels but you can do more or less

Now after you feather the selection go to “edit, fill” and choose the color you want to shine the text (i chose white) and press “ok”

Now deselect the layer and move it to the side you want to start on (i used the left)

Now that the layer is on the side and you cant see it on the text you make a new slide, on the new slide you move the ‘glow’ layer over some (i used five but you can change it depending on how slow or fast you want it to go) you continue this until you go past the last word

After you do that you play it over and see if you like it (for me i have to view it in optimized mode because thats how it will look when i save it… i don’t know if you have to do that in gimp on any other program…)

If you like it you save it and thats about it!

i hope this tutorial helps
